Formed in 2005, this London-based conservatoire has an outstanding reputation for technical excellence and originality, with its jazz studies producing a string of accomplished musicians. In tonight’s programme, the Senior Jazz Ensemble, directed by Gareth Lockrane, will perform Thelonious Monk’s legendary 1959 Town Hall Concert. Pete Churchill then directs the Jazz Choir, accompanied by a rhythm section, in a crowd-pleasing selection of traditional jazz standards.
