Historical Association - The French Invasion of England in 1216-1217

Venue: Fellowship House, 136A Willifield Way, NW11 6YD. The speaker, Dr Sean McGlynn MA, PhD, FRHS, is author of the first book on the little-known French occupation of England in 1216, which was tied into the story of ‘bad’ King John and the Barons’ Revolt. Sean is a regular contributor to History Today, BBC History, English Historical Review, History and other journals. He lectures in History at The Open University and the University of Plymouth at Strode College where he teaches a module on King John. He has published widely on King John and is academic advisor to Salisbury Cathedral's Magna Carta 800 projects, writing the cathedral's official Magna Carta guide. All lectures are followed by free refreshments. Visitors are welcome £3.00, members of Fellowship House £1.00. There is no difficulty parking.
